The overpopulation of dogs and cats is a global issue that affects both animal welfare and public health. To address this problem in the municipality of Rayón, Stet of Mexico, the "Save a Stray" project will implement solutions such as sterilization, education, and animal identification. This project will receive support from local volunteers and aims to change the dehumanized perception of stray animals, promoting a more empathetic and respectful approach.
Moreover, FBI studies show that animal abuse can be an indicator of social violence. Therefore, improving animal welfare can also help reduce violence within the community.
